Understanding NBA Betting Odds
American odds use + and –. +150 means a $100 bet wins $150. -200 means you need to bet $200 to win $100. Decimal odds show total return: 2.50 means $1 returns $2.50. Implied probability = 100 / (decimal odds).
Moneyline
Pick the winner. No spread. Favorites have negative odds; underdogs have positive odds.
Spread
Team must win by more than the spread (or lose by less). -5.5 means win by 6+.
Over/Under
Total points. Over = combined score above the line. Under = below.
Player Props
Bet on individual stats: points, rebounds, assists. Over/under for each.
Bankroll Management
Never bet more than 1–5% of your bankroll on a single bet. Track every bet. Only bet when you see value (expected value > 0). Our strategy guide includes a full bankroll system.
